How do the correspondence courses work?
All courses are mailed to you directly. You will receive the educational materials, the tests, and the answer sheets. When you are done with the tests and have filled out the answer sheets, you can fax or mail them back to Coast Continuing Education to be graded.
How many times can I take the test?
The Structural Pest Control Board allows each person to take the test twice.
What is the passing grade?
You need to score a 70% or higher to pass each test.
How long do I have to finish the courses?
All courses are done at your own pace. However, all Field Representative and Operator courses must be completed by June 28th in order to meet the Structural Pest Control Board deadline of June 30th. Pre-Operators can take as long as needed to complete the materials. Registered Applicators need to complete the courses at least 2 business days before their renewal date.
Can I pay by credit card?
Yes. When you purchase your courses online through our website or by phone, you have the option to pay using your credit card. We accept credit cards by processing the order through Paypal. It is not necessary to have a PayPal account to use your credit card.
What are my payment options?
We accept cash, personal check, cashiers check, money orders, and credit cards.
If paying by personal check, the materials will not be sent out to you until the check is received and cleared through the bank.
How long does it take to receive my courses through the mail?
We ship our materials First Class or Priority mail. It takes approximately 3-5 business days for the package to reach you. Orders with more than two courses may be sent using UPS or FedEx.
How many hours do I need?
The hours you need depends on the branches you are licensed in.
One branch license requires 16 hours of continuing education.
If you are licensed in two different branches you need 20 hours.
A total of 24 hours is required if you hold licenses in all three branches.
Registered Applicators are now required to complete 12 hours of continuing education in order to renew their license.
How many hours of Integrated Pest Management (IPM) are required now for renewing your license?
The Board now requires that Branch II and III licensees complete two hours of IPM in your continuing education in order to renew your license.
Branch I licensees are required to complete just one hour of IPM.
Do your courses meet the new IPM requirements?
We have four courses that meet the new Integrated Pest Management requirements set by the Structural Pest Control Board. There is one credit hour of IPM in each of the following courses: Wood Destroying Organisms #1, Wood Destroying Organisms #2, Pest Biology & Control #1, and Pest Biology & Control #2.
In order to meet the 2 hour IPM requirement, two of the courses listed above must be completed.
At this time our Registered Applicator course is not approved for IPM, but we are working on it!
